Alma Imhoff, a professor of philosophy at Yale University, is getting close to achieving her goal — a tenured teaching position. One evening, her straight-A student Maggie comes to her home. The young woman accuses Hank Gibson — Alma’s colleague, close friend, and at the same time her rival for the tenured position — of rape.
