The events take place in the near future, when people have found a way to upload human consciousness into virtual reality. Nora Anthony works as a customer support employee at the virtual hotel \"Lakeview\", where wealthy individuals continue to exist after death. One day, Nathan Brown, a young developer from Los Angeles who died in a car accident, ends up in \"Lakeview\" and Nora becomes his \"angel\", helping him acclimate to the digital paradise. While Nathan gradually realizes that the afterlife is far from perfect, Nora does her best to support her new client, and soon uncovers information that Nathan\'s death may not have been an accident...
