On moviesjoy, Steven Moffat’s gripping drama Inside Man stars Stanley Tucci as Jefferson Grieff, a quiet yet brilliant death row inmate convicted of murdering his wife. People come to him seeking help with unsolvable cases, and he enjoys playing mind games before revealing the solutions to his anxious visitors. Grieff’s story runs parallel to seemingly unrelated events in an English village involving kindly vicar Harry (David Tennant) and the not-so-kind math tutor Janice (Dolly Wells). We meet Janice as she protects young journalist Beth Davenport (Lydia West) and other women from a drunken harasser on the subway. Soon after, Harry receives a flash drive from young clergyman Edgar (Mark Quartley) containing disturbing images of child abuse. A confrontation between Harry and Janice ends with her unconscious in a locked basement. As Grieff claims, “We’re all killers; we just haven’t met the right person yet.” When Beth visits Grieff in prison for an interview and asks about Janice’s disappearance, the two storylines begin to intertwine in chilling ways.
