The first season of the melodramatic series Maxton Hall is based on Mona Kasten’s 2018 novel Save Me. At the center of this romantic drama is Ruby Bell, a young scholarship student whose family has never been wealthy, but whose academic achievements earned her a place at Maxton Hall — one of the most prestigious schools in England. She hoped to study in peace, but avoiding the ridicule of her wealthy classmates proves difficult, and blending into the background seems easier.
