19th century. 11-year-old George Washington Black lives in slavery on a sugar plantation in Barbados. He is a dreamy and curious boy, whose scientific curiosity once attracts the attention of the eccentric inventor Christopher "Titch" Wilde, the brother of the owner of the sugarcane fields. When George's life is in danger, Wilde helps him escape on a flying machine. Together they embark on an exciting adventure. At the same time, the viewer sees the story of an adult George, who has settled in Nova Scotia, became a student of Medvin Harris, the leader of the black community, and fell in love for the first time.
